Mission
As a deeply invested Temecula community member for 35 years, a passionate educator, and an advocate for safe and welcoming schools where all students can thrive, I am motivated to serve our school district as a trustee. I will represent our students, families, staff, and constituents not just of Trustee Area 2 but of the whole Temecula Valley Unified School District.
Our board of education leadership needs redirection after the last few years. I am confident that my ability to view our schools from varied perspectives—parent, grandparent, teacher, administrator—can help the honorable work of our board. Bringing reasonable thinking to the majority of our school board is not optional—it is necessary.
Temecula is my home, and I care deeply about what happens here. My long involvement in our community and our schools shapes my desire to help guide our current and future development and do the best for the students and families of TVUSD.
Biography
Gary and Debi Oddi have lived in Temecula for 35 years, where they raised their three daughters (all TVUSD Grads) and are currently enjoying seeing their grandchildren reap the benefits of our great community and school district.
Since the first day they moved to Temecula, Gary has been committed to giving back to the students of TVUSD and the families of our community!
In Schools:

Served for 45 years in education (35 years in the TVUSD) as a teacher, administrator, and college instructor

Taught Special Education, History and World Cultures, Science, Physical Education, and Behavioral Science

Served as an administrator at Margarita Middle School, Temecula Elementary School, Nicolas Valley Elementary School, Jackson Elementary School, and Great Oak High School.

Taught AVID, AP, IB, and Sport Psychology at Great Oak High School and served as Athletic Director

Served as Adjunct Sport Psychology Instructor for the Concordia University Master’s of Sport Administration Program

Volunteered in PTA and school events

Coached multiple sports, including youth baseball, soccer, high school basketball, and college baseball
In our Community:

Currently serves on the Community Services Commission for the City of Temecula.

Volunteered as Director of the Murrieta Creek Regional Trail Four Cities Planning Team

Founded and serves as President of Bike Temecula Valley, a bicycle coalition

Supports programs and infrastructure projects to provide safe trails, walking routes, and active transportation options

Encourages more active and healthy lifestyles

As a certified trainer for the Positive Coaching Alliance, trained coaches, parents, and students on how to use sports to learn life lessons and how a positive approach can make athletes better people overall
